I was recently asked to consider why I do for others. I set that question aside to let it settle in my heart. After 4 days this is what came to me: "I do for others because I needed someone to notice my pain and confusion when I was young." This is how I chose to change that need, to "Be the Change I wish to see in the world," I decided to "Be the Support I needed at various times in my life." If all I do this lifetime is be that support I've accomplished much, at least that is how I see it.
I wish for others to know there is always someone who will be there when they need love, assurance they are valued . . . most importantly, to be seen! As I type those words, my heart is moved to the tender areas in the human experience. Life brings us growth opportunities; we need assurance and reminders that we journey with others, not alone! The question is, "Are we willing to ask for what we need and then, most importantly, receive what is offered? These are my thoughts that Wednesday morning!
