The Nature of Things
Ever wondered why a deer continues to cross your path? Have you noticed a particular bird that shows itself to you? Or a tree that seems to draw your eyes to it as you walk a particular trail? Perhaps you have been awakened in the middle of the night and felt the draw to go outside and look at the night sky?
Our present day society currently places human beings as the most important species on this planet. We seem to have claimed ownership to the rights, privileges and domination over all things on this Earth. There are great wisdoms our ancestors, or any indigenous tribe of this planet, carried and one of the most important aspects was a respect for "All our Relations" that coexist on Earth. They had respect for the animal kingdom, for the Trees, water, air, fire, creepy crawlees, many legged and no leggeds...they saw all inhabitants on Earth as part of the 'Family.'
If you seek a healing from the stress and complications from life, take a walk. Find a very special tree and sit down with your back on it. Take a few deep breaths and really allow your body to "lean" on the tree. Continue to breath and see your breath taking in the strength of that tree into your body. Consider what stressors outside that tree's control it has endured. Then feel that strength and stamina be absorbed into your body. It only takes a few moments to feel the energy shift within you. Before you get up and leave, make certain you say, "thank you" to that Standing one. Just as you need "seen" for what you do, so does the tree appreciate being noticed. We all are part of the divine Creator, the Great Mystery, the same eternal Flame of Love that sparked the passion that birthed this beautiful planet and All her inhabitants.
We would love to hear your stories of what you have learned, heard, or are curious about with regards to the "rest of our Earth family." There is much we can gain from re-membering these old stories, and telling new ones we have experienced.
