It's finally arrived . . . the magnificent Fall colors that add such richness to the landscape and rolling hills of our "Indiana Home." I can speak from my heart that the palettes of Fall colors are my most favorite ones that reminds me of my childhood. I lived most of my grade school years in Illinois, the colors of Fall opened my heart to a sense of ahh and wonder. "How can leaves have such a variety of colors" stirred my creative senses. Perhaps it was the multitude of shades and hues that nudged me to walk the woods behind our home. All of my senses were awakened with the sounds of scampering squirrels, falling hickory and walnuts, leaves dropping on my hat and coat, the crunching of leaves beneath my feet, crisp air on my face and the unique scent of freshness that filled the air. While I love and enjoy the uniqueness of each season, there is something about Fall that has always stirred my very soul.
Diversity! Perhaps it is the uniqueness of each leaf that brings wonder to my heart. How can two similar color leaves have such uniquely different patterns? How can the same tree shed a variety of color leaves? Perhaps that is why I love to rake a pile of leaves and jump into the center. I have never seen a child have to be told to jump into a pile of raked leaves, there simply something enticing and heart awakening that brings such a thrill to young (and old) people alike. Makes me wonder about all this "diversity stuff." Perhaps simply jumping in will give those concerned about such things the opportunity to discover the freedom that comes with getting out of their head filled "should's and shouldn't's and simply enjoy the playfulness that comes with the diversity and wonder "The Richness of Color" offers. P.S. And if you are a parent taking your kids "Trick or Treating," try walking up with your kids rather than sitting in the car . . . I'll bet you a bag of M&M's you will enjoy Halloween more going to the door with them! EVENTS: Saturday, November 1, from 11a.m.-5p.m. will be our last "Infinite Possibilities" retreat for 2025.
