Mother's are an indispensable resource to the world! Imagine a world without Mothers. Actually, you can't because if your mother opted to not have children, you wouldn't be here to read this blog. Please understand, Motherhood is a very serious decision to make and by all means is one not to be taken lightly. To choose to be a mother is to commit to a role you will have until you take your last breath, and please note, there is no retirement! Grandchildren are the "next generation," to expand and require the gentle, patient, and loving touch of a Grandmother.
Of course, some mothers are stern, direct and lack patience, and that's OK too, for many of us needed those teachings in order to grow. My teacher used to say sometimes a person has to "flip the coin," to learn the lessons such behaviors offer us to become compassionate, loving people. When I would tell the young people who had such a parent those words, they would look at me quite puzzled. "Huh? how does that teach me to be loving?" I always responded, "By showing you what you do not want to do to your children." Bitterness, lack of forgiveness, and judgments about anyone stops our personal growth. We are harmed more when we hold resentment toward anyone . . . but then, I regress! The bottom line is, Motherhood is a lifetime commitment that often is taken for granted. It is a privilege to bring a life into this world, adopt a child, or inherit them through a marriage. It is an honor to be given a "teacher" who will love you despite all the insecurities you may feel at the various stages your child will enter. And, a teacher a child will be! This Mother's Day, pause and reflect on the many life lessons you learned from your mother. My hunch is, that list will be quite long. And, always remember, a mother is forever learning how to love her child until the she takes her last breath. So, this Mother's Day, call your mother! It's not the flowers or candy, it's the direct look in the eyes or sincere, "Thank you for my life," that will mean the world to your mother. P.S. Some Fathers are the nurturers in the family, we'll recognize their gifts in June! Thursday, May 18 from 6:30 p.m. - 8 p.m. The Deepening into Wisdom Circle will meet. We will be learning more about the benefits and ways in which Meditation can help us truly learn to Listen to the "voice of our Heart," the place of our soul, along with how to truly listen to others in order to develop and expand our relationships with those we encounter. Learning to listen to your own heart is imperative for personal and spiritual growth. To silence our ever chatting head and focus on what a friend, partner, child, parent, our coworker or boss is sharing, is vital for our own well-being, along with enriching those relationships. Kathryn Pingel will be sharing her gifts of listening to the words that spirit sends her way. We are grateful for her willing to open her heart and share these important and valuable teachings so that our personal truths may become more clearly understood and cherished. Imagine, if you will how the world would change if we truly learned to listen! As always, if you have any questions or comments, please send them to Vicky, at: [email protected] And, to all you Mothers, Have a blessed and rich Mother's Day!

"What are we doing here? No doubt everyone at some point in their life ask themself those questions. Most generally that questions is asked when life seems confusing, perplexing, and down right puzzling. In my 74 years on this beautiful planet, never have I witnessed such drastic division and separation in our country. Of course, globally many countries are in major shift mode as well. And, we all share the effects of the environmental changes, the devasting, record-breaking events that are transforming the contours of the land, along with the loss of populations of various species of animals, plant life, and the human race are at epic proportions. What does all this mean? What sort of rationale, purpose, or underlying "message" are we to understand? How can we make sense out of the ever-widening division we are witnessing in the political, moral, and very fundamental truths of many countries? More specifically, our country's seeming disregard for the very principles on which our country was founded?
How's that for an opening? If each of us are to be completely honest, the basis of our foundation has been and continues to be crumbling beneath our feet. Personally, I believe most people are good, love their family and country and would and do show up to help their neighbor. That has been shown through all the major upheavals mentioned above. Regardless of our differences, most people want to live in peace, have the security of a place to call home, and know we are safe and secure. We need to be confident someone cares that we are citizens of this beautiful planet, and if we disappeared, someone would notice and miss us. As we observe the profound beauty unfolding before our eyes that spring brings, now would be a great time to touch the deepest part of your very soul and reassure your heart just how grateful you are to be alive. If nature can confront these drastic environmental events and continue to regenerate new growth, can't we do the same? On this Earth Day, 2023, how about we scan the magnificent world with which we live and notice the amazing gifts above our Heads? The stars continue to shine, Grandfather Sun shows up every morning, and Grandmother Moon reminds us that life is filled with phases that continue to unfold despite other events. On this Earth Day, 2023, I will continue to do what I do every day; Lift my eyes to the Sky Nation and recite, "As above, so below." It is a constant reminder that something greater is the divine God/Creator, and that love from which Earth was birthed will always have the final say. It gives me hope and a comforting peace. I am confident multitudes of other have some form of daily ritual that helps them know without question, "Love will always shed light on the darkness that appears." With that, I say, "Earth to Heaven," Thank you! With the arrival of spring comes the reawakening of life; tiny green buds appear on the barren trees of winter, various species of birds fluff and rearrange nests from prior years to prepare for this year's new offspring. Humans emerge from their "winter caves" and busily begin to clear and clean their yards from winter's fury. It is a time of newness and growth as the earth awakens from the slumber of winter. Such a gloriously inspirational season that offers life the richness of new beginnings. What will you be inspired to bring forth? What hopes and dreams germinated for you during the cold months of winter?
The first significant sacred holiday of the founders of our country will be honored this weekend; the death and rebirth of Jesus, the son of God. It was the bedrock and foundation for which this country was founded. This sacred weekend offers a time to pause and acknowledge the spiritual richness of our forefathers and mothers. As with any and every form of connection to a Divine source of Creation, diverse views and interpretations abound. Whatever deeply personal values hold true in your heart, this weekend offers a time to reflect and show reverence to your core beliefs. It is a time to show respect to your ancestral family's deepest and most personal spiritual practices. Those deepest soul level beliefs provided our ancestors the courage to venture out into a new world, care and love their families, and to teach those deep truths to the generations that followed. Those embedded truths still linger in our inner being. While many today choose very different ways of expressing their heart and soul's connection to the Divine, this weekend would be a good time to show honor and respect to our family heritage. As we approach Easter Sunday, perhaps the baskets children carry with great glee to gather the colorful eggs and treats hidden in the new growth of earth will inspire you. If you will take the time to recapture those youthful memories of innocence and awe that you felt during your years of adventurous discovery, you will inspired, if only for a moment, to reclaim those magical years when everything was new, colorful and exciting. Let us "resurrect" those sweet, innocent times of carefully scanning the earth for colorful treats and allow our hearts to experience the excitement of a child. If we can tap those memories, this Easter may offer the gift of "rebirth," as we look through the eyes of our inner child and appreciate the wisdom of the white-haired, wrinkled faces of our elders that gather around our Easter feast. We might even ask one of those elders to share a story from their Easter experience as a child. Whatever your age, pause your "thinking mind," and allow your heart to recapture the "Easter Bunny" within to help "resurrect" the youthful excitement of possibilities. Then watch your blessings multiply with the warmth of love and excitement for life that will remind you of all the adventures still waiting to be explored and embraced! From my heart to yours, Vicky With our feet firmly planted into Spring, it's definitely time to consider where and how we wish to arrange the seeds and seedlings in our gardens. For those of us who garden, it's always a treat to feel the earth beneath our feet and walk the land to find the perfect spot. It is a partnership with the land upon which we live and grow the nourishments that feed our bodies and souls. Every gardener knows how their soul is fed when the seeds and seedlings are planted into the earth. tended with love, and the fruits of such efforts bring forward the richness of the plants. Of course, the collaboration with the elements of nature are 80% of the growth, our human efforts are 20%. As conscientious as we may be, Mother Nature is the determining factor for the success of the yields our gardens will produce. Weather, bugs, critters seeking food, and the rich abundance of worms all influence the outcome of our gardens. Pause and ponder that thought for a moment. While we often feel responsible for our lives, the conditions and circumstances we encounter each day greatly influence the final yield we bring forth. It's a known fact that consecutive gray days dampen our spirits, while blue skies bring a spring to our steps. Such are the effects we feel when the main focus of conversations and news is gloom and doom. Life does bring sad situations that leave us feeling discouraged and often disheartened. However, much like the weather, its what we choose to do with what we witness that carries the most influence on our emotions. That beautiful mind can create some of the most troublesome situations we have to learn to manage. It is the storyteller, the inner chatter or internal room-mate; choose whatever phrase fits for you. The bottom line is, it's the excessive, unrelenting dialogue we tell ourselves. We can blame the media, our parents, bosses, partners; however, the truth is WE are responsible for that ever-endless chatter in our head. With the spring showers that abound in April, the abundance of color and remarkable beauty of the earth offers our hearts the opportunity to notice the gifts brought forth from the collaboration and cooperation of all aspect of life. As we enter the rainy month of April, it might be the perfect time to remember the richness and cleansing such a month brings forth; and, the useful teaching it puts in front of us. Indeed, there are difficult and challenging events in our lives that bring the shadow side of life into our thinking mind. However, what we do with those thoughts is up to us! We can look to the month of May and remember what comes after those gloomy, rainy days, and reframe those ruminating thoughts to ones that recall what was learned from those experiences. Try this: As you enter your morning or evening shower, invite the water to cleanse and enrich your body, mind and soul with beauty. Visualize the water moving the dark, unhappy memories down the drain and into Earth Mother, to fertilize and feed her with the "compost" of our life experiences. As you step out of the shower, request that beautiful mind to remember how those experiences helped you become more compassionate, loving, and wise. Then put on those new thoughts as you slip into a clean set of colorful, comfy clothes, and tell your busy mind, May has arrived and it's only April! Happenings: Oh my goodness did we have a grand time at the "Using the Mandala retreat!" It was an informative, inspiring and uplifting four hours that bonded the participants as friends with a common goal. Check out the comments a few sent a couple of weeks after the retreat. A repeat of this retreat will be offered in the fall for those interested in learning about the many simple and powerful uses of the Mandala. Send a note via the "Comment section" if you are interested. Also, there are couple of other events in the "cooker," so check the Events periodically for updates. April 6 at 1:29 a.m. the Pink Moon heralds in the Clan Mother, "Looks Far Woman." Along with the rich gifts of the Full moon, to "Reflect and Release, and prepare to Receive," Looks Far Woman teaches us how to "See the Truth." Read more about her and consider some questions on the Clan Mother tab. April 7 is Good Friday, followed by Easter Sunday, the 9th. This is a deeply sacred weekend for those that hold the son of God, Jesus, close to their hearts. April 20, (Thursday) at 12:12 a.m. the New Moon provides the energy to receive the inspired action necessary to "Plan and Plant" those things we have reflected upon. That evening at 6:30 p.m. The Deepening into Wisdom circle will meet and participate in the gifts of all of these powerful, spiritual energies. To gain even more clarity on owning "Our personal Gifts," the drum will assist the group with looking deeply into how those gifts may be of service to our personal and community lives. Even if you have not previously participated in this "mini series," we are confident this evening will be enriching to those in attendance. On another note, the remaining Wisdom circles for the year will be led by volunteer participants who wish to share their gifts with others. Come and join in the fellowship with other like-minded Seekers and learn something new to consider, share your insights, and be part of the conversation! As always, leave any questions or comments on the contact page of our website: www.headtohearttalks.com Vicky. This week, Friday, March 17, St. Patrick's Day will brighten the day with green as we celebrate Irish customs and traditions. There will be parades, special foods, music, dancing, drinking and a whole lot of green to bring to life, the spirited, fun-loving and lively energy of the Irish! Why even Indianapolis has a portion of the canal brought to life in the infamous green color in observance of the Irish heritage. More specifically, this day is in honor and respect of the patron saint of Ireland, St. Patrick. If you are of Irish descent, or have simply be fascinated with the culture, you know their story is like many small countries, often riddled with larger countries attempting to dominate and claim the country as part of their territory. I am confident if you read some of the history of Ireland, you will certainly understand why the phrase, "The Luck of the Irish," was given to the people of this small, beautiful, rich green country. Their resilient, hardworking, love of family and country is a beautiful example of the strength such beliefs and determination can bring to whatever tasks are put in front of you. It certainly offers inspiration for all of us!
Let's make this a bit more personal. What decisions, situations, problems, conflicts, unrest are in front of you? What challenges, misunderstandings, disrespectful, perhaps even addictions, are you confronting? What seeming "blocks" are in your way? Perhaps doing a little research on the Irish people, or, better yet, find an elder who has Irish descent and speak to them of what they know of their ancestors. The same can be said for nearly every culture in the world. Find out your heritage and dig into the history of your ancestors. Doing this will help you learn more about yourself, and heck, who doesn't need to better understand their family of origin? Stepping outside our immediate family, we will gain many insights behind their particular behaviors that may be annoying to us. This is how we will accelerate the healing of our world. We have to get outside our immediate situation to understand more clearly what old habits and ways may be hindering our healing. With that said, what you may discover is how absolutely courageous, brave, bold and fun-loving your family was "back in the day!" You may have the evidence you need to explain why you have such a happy heart despite your circumstances. For you see, not everything in the past is bleak, old-fashioned or outdated, rather it may be something that can offer lightness, hope, and a happy heart to everything you may face in the world. It may be that even if you are from Asia, Africa, South America, and the list goes on, you may still be able to claim you have, "The Luck of the Irish" in your soul! Thursday, March 16, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. the Deepening into Wisdom circle will gather. We will continue our exploration of ways to "Claim our Gifts," as we take a closer look at ways to accept, discern and share our Gifts. If this is your first time to attend this circle, be assured you will quickly and easily understand the theme of this year's Wisdom Circle. That said, your gifts are greatly welcomed and valued by the others in the circle. Because this is a "come when you can" circle, without a doubt the topic will be applicable for your life. Bring an open heart, a blanket for your lap, and a willingness to ask questions and share as you feel led. If you have further questions, contact Vicky at: [email protected] In the meantime, check out our website: www.headtohearttalks.com for more information about our Lodge Have a wonderfully blessed week! Vicky Gracious, seems February is a record breaker; the warmest on record for Indiana! What a mild month it has been, the crocus, daffodils, and Irises have popped through the ground. Tiny buds have appeared on the lilac tree in my front yard and a few other trees are showing signs of new growth. The infamous Phil saw his shadow predicting six more cold weeks of winter temperatures until spring. Hmm, proves everyone can be "fooled!" . . . we'll see what happens in March.
It has been a breath of fresh air to have the abundance of sunshine this winter, my hunch is that's another record breaker. It certainly does help with those who normally suffer with "cabin fever." Personally, I enjoy the winter season and a bit more snow would be welcomed in my little corner of the world; however, with the abundance of warmth and sunshine, my passion for gardening has been awakened. Of course, with the unpredictability of nearly everything, my gardening plans are only being created in my head. So, what will March bring us? Only time will tell, if it enters like a lamb, we'll have a lion to deal with later in the month. As far as events, the Lodge will host a retreat, Using the Mandala, Saturday, March 4, 1:00-4:00. Check out our Events page for more information. If you are interested, send an email to Vicky, [email protected] if you would like to participate. Next, on March 7 at 7:40 a.m. the "Worm" Full Moon will appear. Such interesting names were designated by those who knew the importance of living on earth in right relations with all the inhabitants! It is, once again a time to Reflect and Release negative or stagnant energy to make room to Receive the gifts of the New Moon's energy on March 21 and see what it will offer those paying attention. This Full Moon also heralds in, Weighs the Truth, who offers her teachings on Accepting the Truth, in order to learn new ways to be fair and use Divine Law to support human rights. Her story is very interesting, and in light of our current state of confusion, in general, she offers simple and rich examples of how to use fairness and balance in order to restore and repair relationships. On March 20, the Spring Equinox occurs, it is the day in which day and night are equal. Now, that's something to look forward to after the long dark nights of winter. What are you going to be planting this Spring? That's a question to ponder over the next few weeks. Finally, the Deepening into Wisdom circle will be held Thursday, March 16, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Once again, we invite you to journey with us as we gain a deeper understanding of our personal Truths, and Claim our Gifts in order to offer those gifts to our communities. That is how the current "upheaval" of old ways will become balanced and in harmony for the greater good for all! We do, indeed, need each other! There you have it, we would love to hear from you, better yet meet you in person. Until then, enjoy the richness of these last few weeks of winter, there's still plenty of time to "Dream some more!" Hearts, flowers, chocolate . . . those are the words most associated with the month of February. If you are a "northerner," snow is another descriptor for the second month of a new calendar year. Love it or not, all of those words best describe February. Of course, we have President's Day, Lincoln's birthday, the astrological family of Aquarius and Pisces, and this year Ash Wednesday will be celebrated Wednesday, February 22. For me, personally, a number is added to my years on Earth Mother . . . whew, there sure are piling up!
Sunday, February 5 at 1:59 p.m. the next Full Moon, often referred to as Snow Moon, will offer us the opportunity to Reflect and Release what has occurred in your life since the New Moon on January 21. The Full Moon invites us to surrender to a heightened sense of emotionality. Relationships may close, old habits and cycles may change and shift. Of course, whatever happens is completely up to You! Everything is about our intentions! Remember, after reflection and releasing comes your opportunity to Receive whatever your heart desires. Be mindful and pay attention to your thoughts, they do create your reality! Then on Sunday, February 19 at 2:06 a.m. when the New Moon appears, you can have a clear sense of what you want to plan and plant to replace what has been released. The Clan Mother for February is Wisdom Keeper, and she offers ways for us to consider what our experiences have taught us in order to grow in wisdom. All too often we stare at our past and carry those memories; that can become a real burden to carry. The important teaching is to Honor the Truth of your lifetime and use the teachings you receive as your walk along the Sacred Path of Life. Deepening into Wisdom Circle: As a reminder, each month this year we will be focusing on how to "Claim our Gifts." Last month we learned how to "Learn the Truth" with the Clan Mother, Talks with Relations. We shared some stories of how nature can be some of our greatest teachers. By utilizing these teachers, we can become clear in order to learn and identify our gifts are. On Thursday, February 16 from 6:30 - 8 p.m. Using the teachings of Wisdom Keeper, we will learn how to Honor the Truth, and claim our gifts, in order to grow in Wisdom. We hope you will join us on this journey! All you need is an open heart, blanket for your lap, a journal, and willingness to grow in Wisdom! Community Event: As promised last Spring, we are offering an afternoon retreat to learn more of the ways to use the Mandala to better understand the "workings" of life. On Saturday, March 4, from 1-4:00 p.m. we will gather at the Dancing Flame Medicine Lodge to glean a clear understanding of what and how each of the seven sacred directions can be used to provide a rhythm by which all inhabitants of Earth Mother can live in harmony. Whether you have read either book or not, this retreat will provide the framework for beginning a new round on the Medicine Wheel of Life. Read more about this on our Community Events link: Using the Mandala to Walk a sacred Path with intention and purpose, will equip you with some tools to make 2023 a year full of richness and meaning! Now, go get that chocolate, flowers and cards for someone you love, and make certain you are on that list! From my heart to yours, Vicky Within each of our hearts dreams reside, our task is to bring them forth. Sounds fairly simple; however, most of us know it is not. We wait for the perfect time to give those dreams our full attention, and whammy, our 30th and 40th birthday happen. For most of us, the 40th is the beginning of really "waking up" to the fact nearly half our life is behind us. As we round near 50 is when the itch we've felt finally needs scratched.
Fortunately, this is the time when most of the parenting, career climbing, and overall urge to "make something of ourselves," begins to lessen. The dreams we carried up to that point were earthly, human ones that helped us define our purpose and accomplish the goals we set when we were young adults. They helped us find our place in the world. During this time of hibernation and dreaming, now is a perfect time to really go into your heart and ask some important questions such as: What did I love doing as a child, What brought joy to my heart, and What happen to those heartfelt curiosities and wonderings? Most of you immediately know the answer to those questions, now is the time to "think some more" about them. Only this time, use your heart as your resource rather then your thinking head. That said, we need both! We need our thinking mind that has helped us maneuver our way through the human understanding of life to get us this far. However, consider the ever patient, creative, and passionate heart that holds the dreams of our soul that has waited to be fully seen and accessed. No doubt some deep wounds throughout our life led us to put that beautiful heart on a top shelf. Perhaps if we can truly take 10, 20 minutes per day to rest in a comfortable spot in our homes and give our heart our full attention we will begin to actually feel the tender, loving soul that resides within the center of our body. No doubt those that take this time will feel the familiar warmth they felt as a young child, and allow that innocent, child within to resuscitate our heart and give it a voice. Then our thinking mind will have to quiet the incessant chatter and turn on it's loving ears, to allow the relationship between our Head and Heart to reconnect and deepen. It is at this point the dreams of our heart will show themselves, and the new direction of our life will be made clear. It is then we can proclaim the infamous words spoken by Martin Luther King, "I have a Dream!" The Deepening into Wisdom circle is this Thursday, January 19, 6:30 - 8 p.m. What a perfect time to begin a new calendar year with purpose and intention. Our theme for this year is "Claiming our Gifts." To begin that journey, we need to have a clear understanding of our personal Truths. Therefore, with the assistance of the teachers of Truth, the 13 Original Clan Mothers, each month we will carefully exam what is true for us, so we may clearly identify and strengthen our Gifts. Join us this Thursday as we begin the journey. Bring an open heart, cover for your lap, a friend, and a pine cone. Yep, that's correct, a pine cone, and let the journey begin! As a reminder, this circle does not require a commitment, attend as your heart guides you. Also, there is no set charge for this circle, there, however, is a gifting bowl to accept your energy exchange for what you received. Finally, in case of inclement weather, a zoom link will be sent to those planning to attend. Therefore, please notify Vicky ([email protected]) by noon, Thursday, if you plan to attend. The holidays are gearing down as we greet a brand new year. Only a few colored lights still adorn the streets in our neighborhood as we all begin to settle into the fullness of winter. Hopefully, your cave is prepared; the decorations are put away, the refrigerator is full and for us "northerners" plenty of candles, canned goods, water and some source of back-up heat is on stand-by. Now is the perfect time to crack open your favorite book, or maybe a new one you received during the Holidays, and settle into your favorite cushiony chair. Or perhaps you will choose to use the quiet stillness of winter to catch up on all your favorite TV series. Whatever calls to your heart, the winter is a grand time to explore the world within and around you. Everyone has some sort of dream, some passion that feeds their curiosity, and/or touches their heart. Winter is the perfect time to rest in the comforts of less activity and busyness to ponder, explore, and dream. The first full moon of 2023, often referred to as the Wolf Moon, is Friday, January 6. What a powerful way to begin a new calendar year; exploring places, ideas, considering options or new topics you haven't had the time to dig into and seriously examine. The fullness of the Moon offers it's brilliant light to shed light on a new adventure you might like to see birthed in the Spring. If you allow yourself this precious time to examine your life, you may just discover, the only thing that has been in your way of realizing a dream is YOU! Despite our ever doubting mind that offers reasons why that new or old hidden dream is not possible, the Truth is, "We are captains of our own destiny." Here's a challenge: try dreaming this winter and see what shows up with the new sprouts of plants and foliage in the Spring. It may take baby steps to see the dream come to fruition, but as the saying goes, "Rome wasn't build in a day!" Everything begins with a deep desire within, whether it comes into form, is entirely up to you.
Deepening into Wisdom Circle: Our first gathering will be Thursday, January 19, 6:30 - 8 p.m. If you read the newsletter, you already know this circle has a theme this year, "Claiming our Gifts." Each month we will explore various aspects of the gifts we already have, and learn ways to deepen into those gifts so we continue to live life with purpose, and to be of service to those around us. Through the sharing of stories from participants, a few tips for some unique ways that have helped enrich their lives, we will learn how others developed their gifts. We will also learn a bit more about meditation, prayer, body work, and other unique and powerful ways that can help us become all we are capable of being. Check out the Events link for monthly dates and more information about the Deepening into Wisdom Circle. If you have a specialty you would like to share one month, go to the contact page and let Vicky know. You never know what your experience can do to help someone else on their Sacred Walk around the Medicine Wheel we call Life! How about it? Are you up to the Adventure? As we leave the season of fall, we take with us what we "harvested" from 2022. Hopefully you spent some time last month carefully examining your harvest, to determine what projects, goals, spontaneous adventures, and unexpected events would you like to take into the contemplative cave of winter. No doubt some goals you set for yourself were accomplished and you were able to check them off your "to-do" lists for the year. As you examined your "harvest," there were probably several items remaining. Those are the items to take with you Into the Cave of winter.
Wednesday, December 21, winter officially begins. With Thanksgiving in our rearview mirror and religious Holidays in front of us, take a few days to look over the remaining items and determine the ones that are still pertinent in your life. Sometimes as the "to-do" list is completed, the remaining items may become less important. An example would be, that in January you decided to spend some money getting your old car in tip top shape, and after consulting your trusted mechanic, it was determined a newer car would be more cost effective. Walking a Sacred Path requires us to pay attention and take action according to what we determine is truly important in our life, and/or the lives of those that reside with us. It means being responsible for our actions by becoming conscious co-creators in our lives. When you see life as a circular path, you realize one step leads to the next, it begins with spring, and concludes with winter. (This is not to confuse the calendar year created by humans that begins in January and concludes with December.) As the colorful lights of the Holiday Season draw our attention to the end of another calendar year, now is a perfect time to gather the gifts of 2022 and determine what dreams and possibilities you would like to take Into the Cave, and contemplate some more on. The quiet stillness of winter offers us a time to create a cleaner version of items still waiting to manifest, and remove those that are no longer relevant. As the snow flies this winter (December through March 20) additional ideas and dreams may be birthed. Add those to your "to-do" list for 2023. Be as the bear, slumber through the long dark nights of winter and see what new and exciting dreams this winter will bring. Then when spring begins, a rested bear (not a grumpy one) will re-emerge ready for a new Walk around the Medicine Wheel of life! REMINDER: The Wisdom Circle concluded in November, and will begin again on the third Thursday of each month in 2023. We're making some changes to the Wisdom Circle format that we know will offer a new depth of teaching and sharing. A complete list of meeting dates along with more information about the revised Wisdom Circle will be available on the website by January 1, 2023. In the meanwhile, watch for our newsletter in a couple of weeks for more information and updates. Until then, listen to your heart as the holidays fast approach and remember, both Giving and Receiving bring balance to our lives. And, giving to those you do may not know that are in need, will bring joy to your heart and a renewed hope to the lives of those less fortunate than you! Have a joyous holiday season. From my heart to yours, Vicky |
